Someone forgot to tell them that In any revolution you need soldiers/technicians on the front lines. Films and high profile celebrity and politcal pundits have been helpful but someone has got to pick up a wrench and fix the worlds broken carbon based energy infrastructure.

IT IS A MORAL IMPERATIVE THAT WE BEGIN VERY SOON. AS BETWEEN A FLAWED Middle East Policy and a very weak U.S. Dollar that is used to purchase foregn crude oil we could see unfathomable higher energy prices cause misery and suffering to billions of people around the world.( I first wrote this in July of 2006)
The growth of COAL FIRED UTILITY PLANTS and the explosive use of Automobiles in both INDIA AND CHINA will be primarilly responsible for eliminating much of the worlds coastal areas perhaps as soon as 2020.
It is our goal at MIE to provide a hoalistic environmnet where education as well as research and developmnet can move forward without intellectual or philosophical prejudice.

The Midwestern Institute of Energy is currently the worlds only renewable energy college and reserach facility with over 65 acres and 360,000 sq ft of college campus that is dedicated to finding answers to global warming while seeking affordable environmental energy sources. Our curriculim through our certifiacte programs is initially focusing on bio-mass,geothermal, wind energy technologies, energy effcient vehicles, hydrogen and fuel cells. We are aware that these are mere stepping stones to future technologies that will eventually lead to more comprehensive solutions to global warming.. According to the 2006 IEA world energy outlook global energy supply and the environmental crises are intertwined.The world used 288 QUADRILLION BTU IN 1980 and in 2030 WILL REQUIRE 678 QUADRILLION BTU to fullfill its energy needs. The two main sources of the ENERGY pie as it currently stands are crude oil and coal which produces CO2 emmissions that are systematically and irrevocalbly damaging the entire earths eco-system through a green house effect. Unless renewable energy or other forms of environmentally benign nascent energy technology is not soon developed both China and India with their new found industrialized strength and energy needs will alter our environment forever.
A cognitive dissonance is developing amongst the worlds populations (similar to the U.S. national debt) that cannot be allowed to continue.
